Man preparing to run - cannabis has been linked to improving your workout

Can cannabis improve your workout?

If you’re a fitness fanatic and you’re interested in trying cannabis, your love of the gym might be holding you back from finding out what the fuss is all about.

There’s a lot of accepted wisdom when it comes to marijuana, such as the myth of the lazy stoner or its association with cravings for junk food. The idea that cannabis is incompatible with a healthy lifestyle is deeply ingrained in our culture. Now, as we are starting to learn more about cannabis and the tide of public opinion is slowly turning, this idea is being challenged. According to one recent study, Cannabis consumers actually exercise more than the average Canadian.

Whether you have recently been prescribed cannabis or you have been a user for a while, keeping a cannabis journal can help you unlock the plant’s health and wellness benefits.

There is a lot of accepted wisdom when it comes to cannabis, or marijuana myths, as we like to call them. One of the prevailing stereotypes about marijuana is that is only used by young people. Think about weed and you might picture a gaggle of teens huddled behind a 7-11 passing a joint around.

Today, as marijuana goes mainstream, these myths are being challenged. According to the latest government statistics, cannabis use is most common among 25 to 34-year-olds with 26 per cent saying they tried it at least once in the last three months. What may surprise you, however, is how prevalent cannabis use is among older age groups. The data also shows 16 per cent of 35 to 44-year-olds, 8.5 per cent of 45 to 64 year-olds and 4 per cent of over-65s said they had consumed cannabis in the last three months.
